Among the most well-known French sculptors of the early 20th Century was Ernest Diosi. Perhaps best remembered for his war memorials, his talents did not end with immortalizing fallen soldiers or honoring those who served their country. This particular bronze is just one example of his expertise. Portraying a race car driver intent on winning the race, the 10-1/4" x 7-1/2" bronze is mounted on a hard wooden base and has been signed "E. Diosi" on the lower left side. The logo of the foundry "c F a Paris" is imprinted on to the lower rear base.
